Luxury Morocco Travel, Camille’s Tailor-Made Journey with ASIBI DMC

There are trips you take. And then there are journeys that reshape the way you see a country.

In early March, I travelled for one week with ASIBI, our boutique DMC specialising in fully tailor-made itineraries in Morocco. Nothing is pre-set. Each journey is crafted as a story, shapedby encounters, landscapes and people.

We landed in Marrakech, where our driver and guide, Moustapha, welcomed us. He stayed with us throughout the journey. More than a guide, he became a storyteller, offering insight into Morocco’sBerber roots and its present-day rhythm. Travelling with him meant understanding, not just seeing.

We quickly left the city behind, heading south towards Zagora. Crossing the High Atlas feels like travelling through multiple worlds in a single day, from snow-capped peaks to green valleys and dry, mineral plains. Morocco reveals itself through contrast.

Along the way, we passed Ouarzazate and followed the Draa Valley, where palm groves and small oases punctuate the landscape. In Tamegroute, we stopped to discover its iconic green pottery, stillshaped by hand using ancestral techniques.

Then came one of the most powerful moments of the journey.

The desert experience.

We stayed in a tented camp, set deep within the dunes. This is not a traditional stay, but a true immersion. No network, no distractions, just silence and space. The camp is run with a deeply personalapproach to hospitality, where every detail feels thoughtful and intentional.

We entered the dunes of Erg Chigaga at sunset, riding camels through golden light. The landscape feels endless, almost unreal.

Dinner is shared in a central tent, with beautifully prepared traditional dishes. The level of care, in such a remote setting, is remarkable.

But the true highlight is the night.

Under a sky untouched by light, thousands of stars appear with striking clarity. The silence is absolute. It is a rare, almost surreal feeling.

At sunrise, the desert shifts again. From the top of a dune, the light slowly brings the landscape back to life. A moment of complete stillness.

From there, we journeyed back north, each road revealing new scenery. With ASIBI, even the transitions become part of the experience. Nothing feels rushed, everything unfolds naturally.

We continued to Skoura, the “village of a thousand kasbahs”. After the desert, the contrast is striking: lush palm groves, quiet gardens, a sense of calm suspended in time.

On the way back to Marrakech, you can also visit Atlas Studios, where many international films have been shot. A surreal place where cinema meets desert landscapes.

Finally, we returned to Marrakech for our last nights at La Mamounia, an iconic address that perfectly contrasts with everything experienced in the south.

The journey ended in the medina, around Jemaa el-Fnaa, immersed once again in the energy of the city.

This is what ASIBI creates: tailor-made journeys where every route tells a story, every stop has meaning, and every traveller experiences Morocco in a completely personal way.
