Harvest at L’Albereta, Franciacorta
Just an hour from Milan, the rolling hills of Franciacorta near Lake Iseo turn golden as vendemmia begins. At their heart stands L’Albereta, the Relais & Châteaux retreat imagined by the Moretti family, also founders of Bellavista, Italy’s sparkling jewel. Here, Vendemmia is hand-picked and time-sensitive turning a stay into a seamless wine immersion for wine lovers: stroll through vineyards, join private cellar tours at Bellavista and Contadi Castaldi, then return to the hotel for sunsets, Italian gastronomy, and the sparkle of a perfect “Salute!” .
The Moretti family has always linked craftsmanship with terroir. Vittorio Moretti, once a builder, chose the Bellavista hill in 1977 to create his Champagne-inspired dream. Today, together with his daughters, he continues to shape the region’s identity, blending hospitality, culture, and wine into a world of Italian art de vivre.
Often referred to as the “Italian Ruinart” for its elegance, Bellavista helped define the region’s modern identity with a style ranging from the silky Satèn (blanc-de-blancs) to iconic cuvées like Alma Gran Cuvée (fragrant, mineral, and finely bubbled). Over time, Vittorio Moretti even became one of the key figures who helped shape Franciacorta’s rise as Italy’s leading traditional-method sparkling wine region (DOCG since 1995).
